Boston: May 20-22, 2011

Two historic ball clubs, the Red Sox and the Cubs, meeting at the iconic Fenway Park is something that would peak any baseball fans’ interest. Not playing in the Fens since the 1918 World Series, the Cubs returned after 93 years for a 3 game bout with the Sox this May. Thousands of Cubs fans descended upon Boston from all over the country to witness the long awaited series. A few hundred Cubs fans were able to enjoy the weekend while letting Cubs Destinations do all the planning! These fans experienced the best in VIP baseball road trips!

Aside from game tickets, Cubs Destinations provided first class hotel accommodations in downtown Boston, Cubs gift bags, and unparalleled access to Fenway Park! To begin, Cubs fans took a VIP tour of the park, including access onto the warning track and even inside the legendary Green Monster! Check out a few of the photos from the spectacular experience!

After the tour, Cubs players like Darwin Barney and Sean Marshall met with Cubs Destinations fans to sign autographs, pose for photos and field questions from the group at an exclusive pre-game reception. Take a look at the events!

Cubs fans have long waited to see another World Series victory. But Red Sox can sympathize with this struggle because their World Series drought stretched 86 years from 1918 until 2004! Cubs fans were excited to see 2004 & 2007 Red Sox World series rings and trophies; an excellent reminder that the Cubs too can do it!

After the weekend of great baseball, Boston sightseeing, VIP baseball events, and overall enjoyment of the nostalgic atmosphere, Cubs fans packed their bags and headed home. Many of these fans will look for the release of the 2012 Cubs schedule to plan their next Cubs Destinations adventure! See what one traveler had to say about their experience!

“My wife and I really enjoyed the Cubs Destinations experience.  We have been traveling to visitors’ ballparks with the Cubs for 15 years, having visited 14 different cities, and we both commented on how much better our previous trips would have been had there been a Cubs Destinations option in the past.

In the past, we would spend hours and days researching what hotel was close to the ballpark, what restaurants were available, what to do in the city we were visiting, and  how to navigate the city to see what we wanted.  Cubs Destinations took all the work out of the trip and left us to enjoy ourselves.   The process was very easy, and we were supplied with a lot of information that helped us greatly in enjoying both the Cubs/Red Sox Series and the City of Boston.

Everyone involved was very friendly and helpful, and it really is  nice to visit an opponent’s ballpark and be able to sit with a bunch of Cubs fans.  The access to Fenway was unbelievable. Actually getting the chance to go walk on the field and step inside the Green Monster was an experience I will always remember.

We are already looking forward to the next trip. “
